A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME!
09/19/12: HELLO, MY NAME IS BOOGIE! I AM AWESOME, GORGEOUS AND VERY LOVABLE RETRIEVER MIX. I AM APPROXIMATELY 1 1/2 YEARS OLD AND AM LOOKING FOR A WONDERFUL HOME TO BE A PART OF YOUR FAMILY. I WAS FOUND BY MY RESCUERS ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALMOST GOT HIT. NOT SURE IF I WAS DROPPED THERE OR WHAT. THEY ALSO FOUND A SCAR AROUND MY NECK WHERE I MUST HAVE BEEN TIED OUT AND THE ROPE OR COLLAR GOT IMBEDDED IN MY NECK. SOME FUR STILL FALLS OUT THERE BUT IT IS ALL HEALED NOW.
EVEN AFTER ALL OF THIS I STILL AM SO AFFECTIONATE AND LOVE TO GIVE KISSES. I AM JUST A LITTLE SHY AT FIRST, UNLESS YOU ARE A CHILD THEN I WAG MY TAIL LIKE CRAZY! OTHERWISE, IT JUST TAKES A MINUTE FOR ME TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE GOING TO BE GOOD TO ME.
I HAVE A BEAUTIFUL BLACK COAT OF FUR AND A HEALTHY APPETITE. I AM LOOKING FOR A FENCED IN YARD SINCE MY RESCUERS AREN'T SURE WHY I WAS A STRAY. I AM EAGER TO PLEASE AND ALREADY MIND WELL. A LITTLE MORE TRAINING AND I WILL BE PERFECT AS CAN BE (ALTHOUGH I AM TOLD I ALREADY AM! )
I ALSO DO WELL WITH ALMOST ALL DOGS I MEET, ALTHOUGH SOME I WILL TRY TO BE BOSS WITHOUT BEING AGGRESSIVE AND LOVE TO CLEAN THEM. I OFTEN TRY TO CLEAN THEIR EARS AND HAVE A VERY MOTHERING NATURE EVEN THOUGH I AM A MALE.

GRACIES HEART OF GOLD DOES NOT SHIP OUR DOGS - WE REQUIRE A FACE TO FACE MEETING. WE ALSO DO NOT ADOPT OUR DOGS AS GIFTS UNLESS THE RECIPIENT MEETS WITH THE DOG PRIOR TO ADOPTION.

Adoption fees average $150-$400. This fee varies per animal based on additional vet care required to save them. Due to the rising costs of veterinary care, premium holistic dog food, gasoline prices, and boarding fees, which are paid for out of our own pockets, we recently were forced to raise our fees. We are not funded by anyone - adoption fees help to offset only a part of our cost of getting the dog ready for adoption. All dogs > 6 months are vetted, up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, wormed and have a goody starter bag. Puppies < 6 months will have at least 2 puppy vaccinations, microchipped, wormed, and goody starter bag. If age appropriate, will potentially also be spayed/neutered and have rabies vaccination also.
